Just been out ferrying one daughter back from cinema and passed one BP station that has a 10p differential per litre between petrol and diesel

When did that happen?

Anyone else seeing mark ups on diesel that much (@ £137.9)?

Still not 10%, but getting closer

Yes. 8p - 10p price difference around me. Only noticed this today.

The price of both petrol and diesel is a joke.

It's 1.32 for petrol in North Hants.

****ing rip at best and we put up with it and pay it ...

Yes a rip off, and yes too high, but it's the increase from a couple of pennies to 10 that surprised me

At what point will petrol be cheaper to fuel / run.......?

Over here is France where diesel was previously perhaps 30 cents cheaper than 95 unleaded, today I bought some petrol for my bike and it was only 1 cent more expensive than diesel. The government over here has decided to make diesel unpalatable as part of their 'clean-up of the Universe".

Big diesels are about to see their market values drop through the floor.

I noticed an 8p difference today that had me thinking.

I thought 7p was bad .

A local supermarket was the cheapest for over a decade but now is dearer than the next town , how do they work it out !

I never notice or look at the price of fuel when topping up.

It would be far too worrisome and I would end up getting fixated on pricing.

Diesel on M1 J15a services was 155.9 today, premium 165.9! Go figure

Based on this thread it seems diesel is getting relatively more expensive, but it also confirms the price of fuel generally has crept up eprather quickly this year. No doubt oil companies will say Brexit is part of the reason, and later will also say it’s the reason that prices stay high after Brexit, even if oil prices soften.

Out of interest, what's the most anyone's paid for fuel? My record is 1.72 Euros in Germany a few years back - I needed unleaded and they had no 95. I didn't want to put 91 in the car (an elderly Fiat, I didn't think it would run too well on that) so had to buy the 102 RON. Ouch! The car loved it, but I told it not to get used to it at that price..

Cheers,

Gaz

My record for fuel prices was last year in Italy, on a bike tour.

We stopped at a fuel station and my mate parked his sidecar outfit on the rhs of the pump and I parked on the lhs. He paid about 1.55€ self service and I paid (unknowingly :eek:) 1.74€ for attendant service - but the bloke failed to tell me :mad:.

Needless to say my mate laughed like a drain.

4th September this year: Aral Ultimate 102 at the Schwangau filling station just outside Füssen, €1.79 / litre (equivalent to 161.5p / litre).

Prior to that, 16th August 2013: regular unleaded at the TotalErg Sestri Levante services on the A12 in Italy, €1.91 / litre (equivalent to 163.3p / litre).
