My 2005 W203 looks like it has the right connector in armrest to support the ViseeO MB 2. But the I plug it in nothing happens totally dead.
On the cars display it says no phone. Any idea what is wrong with my car? Guess this is an electrical issue.
Thanks

Could be a fuse, could be the phone system itself or a faulty viseeo.

Does your phone Blue Tooth see the Viseeo unit?

On my C55 I have to have the phone connected to the Viseeo before it registers the phone is there on the Comand or the Dash. Also when you plug the Viseeo in to the center console it should start flashing some lights as it hunts for your phone. Does it do that. If not it sounds like a fuse.

Thanks guys, check the fuse and was missing. installed a new fuse and the viseeO now powers up. It connects to my phone and the green light now flashes (sync). Next issues is the car/audio 20 does not seen to see the ViseeO. The dash just says no phone. I have upgraded the Firmware and CPU of the unit and still does not work. Maybe there is an issues with the phone system in the car... but I have no idea how to check this? Any ideas?

I have comand so it may be different. You have to have the phone connected to the Viseeo for the dash to see the phone (if that makes sense) So if I do not connect my phone via BT to the Viseeo the car says No Phone Installed. As soon as I connect using BT to the Viseeo it says "Viseeo" I can then sync my contacts etc.

I have paired my phone and still says No Phone. There must be something wrong with the pre wiring of the phone kit itself... I have no idea how I can test this.

My experience with Viseeo is that I can get in and out of the car for days and it pops up "Viseeo" on the dash every time, then all of a sudden I get the no phone message.
Sometimes pressing the reset button works and other times I have to unplug the unit and plug it back and it works again.
While it says no phone my phone says it's paired, my head unit has to be switched on also.
Try unplugging it and back again while it is paired.

This could be why the fuse was removed? I think you need somebody like Alfie on here to help you. I have no idea how you would diagnose the pre-wired kit apart from possibly STAR.

Thanks to Richard and Mark at Command. Replaced the Phone Control Unit. Thanks very much indeed, will be in contact in the next few days.

This was an interesting one because the UHI MOST controller was clearly dead but it had gone into optical bypass mode thus allowing the Cd changer on the MOST loop to still work.

Nice clean and tidy car aswell.

As the fuse had been removed and the UHI wasnt working at this point the changer wouldnt have been working either though would it?

The fuse simply gave the cradle power. The CD changer is on a separate fuse AFAIK.

I've just got one of these and this is what I'm experiencing now. The instructions are so vague it's hard to know exactly what is expected behaviour. When I sit in the car and test while stationary it seems to behave, and then both times I've actually been on the road a phone call comes in I got nothing on the head unit, the phone has no audio because it's connected to bluetooth, disaster. Have made several outgoing calls and all good, and incoming calls after a successful outgoing call no problem. Definately experiencing the sometimes "VISEEO", sometimes "No phone" even though the phone always thinks it's connected to the viseeo. Having only had it a couple of days I haven't worked out the exact nuance, and with instructions written by housewives not engineers it leaves a lot of guesswork to figure out what's up.

I've bought the genuine mercedes SAP V2, and found that to be a POS and a complete waste of money. Have I managed to repeat the performance on the viseeo? Does anyone have an MB-2 that "just works" without having to press the TEL button to wake it up etc?

Perhaps my next solution if I want to enjoy turn-of-the-century technology in my car is to just buy a different bloody brand of car. </rant>

Have you tried a replacement Viseeo or a Mercedes HFP cradle instead? This will tell you if its the cradle or the phone controller.

Thanks for the reply Alfie, a replacement won't be on the cards as I bought it on ebay .

Last night I trawled through about 50 posts and I've got the latest firmware (mixed blessing since upgrading seems to be a trauma), so I've tried disabling the phonebook sync and I'll see during the week if that fixes it - I've got this suspicion that it drops out because the sync has finished and I haven't pressed the second button or whatever. I will post when I know more.

I'll be surprised if the unit is defective, I expect it will be a combination of car/viseeo/phone (Android nexus one+desire hd). But if nothing else, hopefully the experience will allow me to gather enough of an organic understanding of the logic paths to post a helpful summary for future punters. It's funny, I googled viseeo before buying, it annoys my wife how much I researc, but I never googled "viseeo not working" etc etc. Lesson learned for next time. :)

I had no problem pairing the phone and syncing the phone book, as long as mine says viseeo on the cluster it all works fine.
As I said it will work day in day out and then for some reason it will just say no phone, the reset button works sometimes but unplugging and then plugging it in again with the ignition on works every time, I have days where I have to do this a few times.
My instruction book is pretty good, have you got the proper viseeo book?
I can scan it if you want?

Ok, so it just happened again, making it 3 out of 4 trips having serious phone dysfunction, to the point of being a danger on the road. Anyway. My issue seems to be different to the OP, so I'll probably start a new thread unless there's an immediate solution. My unit works perfectly stationary, but upon starting up and driving, it seems to "often" but not always, drop the signal strength icon and display "phone off" where "viseeo" should be. In this state, my phone thinks everything is happy, the sync light is flashing indicating the viseeo thinks everything is happy, but the car doesn't route audio in either direction which makes Pev decidedly unhappy. Pressing reset on the unit fixes the issue, and in the past pressing "TEL" on the Audio 20 has brought up "processing" followed by a working unit. However I'm inclined to disregard the latter as being unreliable since it is from memory without a clear understanding of the issue. The only fact I have at the moment is resetting the viseeo fixes everything.

So my only question for the forum is, how do I test my phone controller? I have an SAP v2, so if I were to put a sim into that and use it for a few days would that be enough to rule out the car and rule the viseeo as being defective?

Wife thinks I'm going for a world record on how much money one can waste trying to get phone-car integration. Getting close to giving this one to the wife and just buying a new damn car.

Yes, do the SAPV2 test its a good enough way to test the car's phone system.

I've seen this issue before when the Viseeo wasn't pushed onto the UHI connector properly, it has to go on until the locking mechanism holds it in - sometimes thats quite a hard shove. (the driving around vibration causes some of the connections to disconnect, but as long as there is power the viseeo will stay on and paired with the phone)

Gee thanks for that kind offer Shaune55, but I do have the manual in electronic form from the seller.
Cheers

Thanks Richard, I have tried disconnecting and re-connecting a couple of times for that reason, but I am always timid when plugging these sorts of things in so perhaps tomorrow I'll try a little more force, and perhaps clean the connectors aswell. You having seen this before gives me confidence there's a good chance of getting out of this with a smile. Following that, I'll do the SAP v2 test. All things considered, I hope the car's side of things is ok, that side sounds expensive.

Many thanks for your time and suggestions.
