Purchased one of these kits from http://www.perfectpolishingkits.co.uk/ :

Decided that the air filter assembly could do with a bit of a clean but couldn't get rid of the milky layer:

Nice... Are you going to lacquer it or just leave it as is?

Damn hard work polishing and messy too.

Nah, will just leave it as it is. Will clean it every now and again with Autosol metal polish.

Not really hard, but time consuming and as you said, messy!

Would have been more than £20! And i needed the polishing kit for another project....

KLP92,

Love the results.....I need to do exactly the same thing to my M117 engine and I was getting nowhere with Autosol !!!!

Cheers

Vlad

bizarre - saw a chap walk into george frasers today with a pair of yellow springs, and an identical polished air filter plate... (Seikh chap in a T202 250 turbodiesel)

I've been spotted ;)

And the chap with me was fellow forum member aka$h.

You were in a mint looking green CL if my memory serves me correct, with a p/plate designating your model code followed my MB (i have a great memory)? You should have said something!
