Hi guys can anyone one here please provide me with a step by step guide on changing a V-Belt on the OM642 engine W211.

Cheers

Nice and easy to do on the OM642 in the W211. You need a pin to hold the tensioner I used a drill bit.

Thanks mate I'll tackle the job next week. Is there anything I need to know about removing that black air pipe infront of the tensioner or is it just a case of undoing the 2 bolts holding it and pulling it out?

Have a look on you tube mate
I had it on my phone and followed it step by step makes light work of it
make sure you draw a diagram of how the belt fits first!

When I did this on our old 211 (E320 cdi), I had to remove the fan assembly in order to get to it. That's what WIS said to do.

When I did it on my mums old 211 (E240 petrol), there was enough room to do it without removing the fan.

Either way, it's not too difficult to do.

used an OEM belt. Should I expect any sort of engine performance improvement after replacing that old cracked belt?
