I know I'm getting older and my eyesight wouldn't be as good as when I was 30, but I really must try and sort the headlights out on my 211, I did remove the relatively new hid bulbs from my s class before I sold it and am planning on fitting them to the E -class , Main Beam is Good but as soon as I need to dip its shocking , I'm hoping that its just the bulbs that have lost there efficiency over time, I found the s-class really good and probably the only thing that never gave me trouble during my ownership! even the Wife's Dacia with normal h4 lights would out perform mine at the moment.

You could try new bulbs, but it might be as simple as a corroded or poor earth somewhere (so the power is just not flowing through the bulb).

There can only be one littlewimp. - If it was a GTiR, that would almost certainly be the problem; do you still have yours, I think you were selling parts of recently weren't you?

If they are xenons I believe old bulbs go pink rather than just dimmer when they are on their way out

Yes only one Littlewimp, yeah still have the Pulsar although not been out for a few years, I think about selling now and again but cant bring myself to do it !. I had a few parts up for sale that I've acquired over time. To Many toys and not enough time.

Same situation. - Mine is on axle stands waiting for me to put the turbo elbow back on, then it needs the rear arches repaired before it can get an MOT.
My wife is very keen to get it off the drive so that I can park the CLK there instead, but I still remember how much I love it when it's actually on the road.

Anyway, I did fix the dim Nissan headlights by putting a second earth on them.

Get new bulbs, chances are they are still the original ones and need replacing, also get a garage to check the alignment.

Thanks for your reply's. I did get the alignment checked and to make sure that the self levelling was working correctly, I did have them adjusted as high as I possibly could without being illegal !. I must get the replacement bulbs fitted and hopefully see an improvement, I still think that the cars too quick for my eyesight.

It seems that the Value of the decent Pulsars is eventually on the up! and I must admit my 211 is fun with all of 540 bhp but I'm sure the Pulsar would still put a Big smile on my face, I think I will try and get it out within the next month or so!

I popped these in mine 2 x OSRAM D2S Xenarc 66240 HID XENON HEADLAMP BULB & saved a trip to the opticians.
How you getting along with the 55 now ?

I am having the same issue with my newly acquired S211. Has anyone managed to get to the bottom of this?
