Possible supply of used, un-rusty w124 wings

Well can you get a set of seat heating elements for a 2 door 124, post 1993....

Things might be that way with parts for the 90s cars . But searching for wings for the W124 is like looking in haystack for a needle .Just looking on the bay at rusty rubbish .I would never list the one i took from my car thats better than some listed on there right now.

124 wings are always at least a bit rusty, either buy a pair of pattern ones, or better still buy a pair of MB wings.

I gave him along list this afternoon and he'll get back with prices/availability on Tuesday. Meanwhile I've mailed three huge concerns in Porto, Lisbon and one between the two.
I was going to get seats, but I've just asked for John's blue one, the heated element and five minters in leather which I'll take if they're dirt cheap.
Do I recall correctly that a wing will fit saloon. estate and coupe? I know there might have to be a rectangle cut if needs be on the repeaters, bit do the facelift ones differ?
Cheers.

Wings are all the same, other than slatty diesel ones, LHD ones need repeater holes cut in.

If you load up with wings, make sure they're genuine ones (heavy) not used copy ones.

There are at least 2 men with sprinters and trailers who do the reverse of what you're planning, fill up the van with parts and a car on the trailer, and then off to Portugal.

They tell me that old Mercedes parts are worth big money there.

Surprise, surprise!

And for what it's worth the man with a million seats - he had no 124 two door seats and of course the seats he had were all from the UK - RHD. :):)

The scrapyard in Portugal?

Nick i know that rust is a problem .But you can still find them now and then. A pair of new mb wings, would be more than the car is worth .Just want it presentable before i part with it I have one i have just fitted ,same colour spot on .It was just a bolt up job...So they are about .

MB Original Wings

With reference to replacement parts (Wings - MB original) I am in the process of repairing my 220E Estate (I won't go so far as to claim restoring - yet) but I checked with MB and front wings for the W124 are available £192.00 + the dreaded.
That's pretty reasonable if you consider the prices the scrappies (Oh sorry Recyclers) are asking for old, sometimes bent and definitely corroded ones.
I have used non oe before but they are too thin, don't fit without a lot of additional work, usually by a skilled panel beater and filler.
With OE they can be "preped" and sprayed off the vehicle and fitted at no cost, other than the plasters and bandages.
It may not be the cheapest option but for me it seems the most cost effective.
Just make sure, if your not preping and painting yourself that the bodyshop really goes to town on the underseal around the wheel arch lip.
I just replaced the spheres so checked availability of pipe work = MB are cheaper than 2nd hand on EBay.......
