Thanks for the info fellas, I didn't realise that this post was 8 years old, I have only had my Mercedes for 4 years and the fault developed earlier on this year, I got sick and tired of the relentless texts, phone calls and email from Lookers Mercedes-Benz of Ashford, after numerous calls to the customer services in the end I had to tell them I had sold the car, finally the bombardment stopped.
My local garage can’t figure it out but then again they did charge me nearly £400 just for looking, so I thought I would do some searching on the internet, from what I have read Steve seams to be the man, and thanks to R2D2 I now have his number, thanks for that R2D2.
However I am open to suggestion if someone would care to recommend somewhere near to Lydd (TN29) in Kent who comes with as many recommendations.

Class Cars near Sandwich might be a little closer to you than Maidstone - did good work for me on my then S203 a couple of years ago, plus I've read good reports from others on here and t'other side.

Class Cars at Sandwich get my vote too. They have taken good care of my E55k since I bought it two years ago. They have full STAR diagnostics, charge less than half the main dealer labour rate, and have courtesy cars if you need. Steve the owner and his mechanic are Mercedes trained.

I can recommend both Steve and Mike - both are top guys! Steve may be worth a talk to as he works in Tonbridge (PS. I was around when this original thread started:bannana:)

Thanks for the recommendations, but Maidstone is 37 miles from here to sandwich's 50 miles, but I like sandwich so I won’t rule out a day trip.
Sounds like some of you have been MB club members for a long time; well my SLK is, I hope for life, just a toy really if you know what I mean. I wanted one when I first saw an advertisement in a car dealers window TV in my hometown of Bexleyheath, to many years ago but to expensive for me until I was left a little money in a will 5 years ago, so now I have finally got one I'm not parting with it.
Happy days will be even happier once these annoying warning lights have been extinguished.
I have a CLK as well as my everyday car, its and oldie from 1999, done 130K but has never given me a problem and apart from a few dings to the interior rear seat panels and the stitching coming away on the drivers seat its in amazingly good condition compared to other cars of a similar age, it’ll be a sad day when I have to part with it.

IIRC there's a respected specialist just off the Sidcup bypass north of Critalls Corner, but I can't remember the name. I'm sure someone local to you will help - there are members here from Bromley etc.

Hey R2D2, would you mind sending me Steve's number too please? I could do with someone decent giving my new SL the once over.. cheers nerf

Crishazle are you thinking of Wright-Tech, Sandy Lane, Sidcup. Well respected.

If your home town is Bexleyheath, you have an excellent indi on your doorstep - Keys of Beyleyheath.

Ask for Danny - they're top blokes there and (in my experience, anyway) honest and won't rip you off.

I've also been to see Wright-Tech of Sidcup, but have never used them, so can't comment definitively on them. They do, however, appear to have a good reputation amongst members of this site.
