Pre facelift CLK cluster - bulb not working

Hi all,

My LCD display on my dash cluster is only lit on one side , so presumably one of the backlight bulbs has gone , it is the smaller display ( pre facelift ) , how difficult is it to change the backlight bulb ?

Is it even do-able ?

Yes it's do-able.

Buy a new bulb from MB for the relevant part (couple of quid)

Pop cluster out and bulb fits in.

That's it (Presuming you haven't got the dreaded pixel issue?)

Hang on, you said LCD, do you mean that some of the digits are no longer working (this is the Pixe Issue will refers to)? If so then it may be more problematic

No ,the pixels are all working, just only half of it lights up ...

There will be 3 bulbs in a row, replace all 3 as when you put it back another will be blown.
1.2W panel bulbs in holders.
