Advertised as xenon but mine have different bulb panel on the back and sure sure my ballasts are inside the unit.

I have just dug out the handbook and it shows the back panel for the halogen lamps you remove as being the same shape and colour as the one in the pic, the xenon lamps have got a round black cover, and the ballast is def in the headlamp.

So its not a xenon, but a halogen with a xenon kit added ie from e-bay

That's what they look like, it's a genuine xenon early (rareish) W210 headlight.

The facelift headlights have the round black covers.

It's the real thing, honest.

I was convinced i was right arent i always

Plus the split bit of wiring on the ballast unit convinced me they were retrofit units.
