Price for W211 E500 silencers

Hi there I have a 54 plate 211 E500.

Can you give me a price for the 2 x rear exhaust sections? (ie from the central silencer back)

The problem is that two of the hangers have rusted away (the ones that are roughly in line with the rear wheels). In addition there is a cross brace a little further back that has also rusted off, at least on one side. The end result is that the all the weight of the exhaust is being carried on the rear-most hangers and there is a fair amount of movement up and down and side to side. The implication being that if I don't do anything the whole lot might either fall off or fracture.

So I have two options; (a) find somewhere that could repair it by either welding some suitable hangers back on and welding the cross-brace on or (b) replace the whole rear section with a new MB or quality 3rd party set up.

It actually looks as if the exhaust has a fair bit of life left in it to if I could find someone to do (a) cheaply I would.

But as soon as I'm in for 2 hours + of labour it may well make more sense to do (b).

Take it to any decent exhaust place or small local garage for repair.

It will probably cost several hundred £££s to replace both sections, I expect a repair would probably cost about £50-100 or something

Honestly not worth it... MB exhausts tend to outlast the cars.

Get a local stainless exhaust place to sort it out, bet you will have change from £50.

Hi, afraid not mate, i only know of one in Essex, Hayward and Scott, maybe lopes has some contacts, i know there are loads around, you could just try the local exhaust fitters and see if they can do it. definately dont replace the whole thing.

Thanks Alps. I did some Googling and found Solid Fabrications in Brixton.

The gallery shows what they can do. When I called about repairing mine Allan seemed to think it was extremely straightforward.

I guess if you're making up s/s systems all day welding up a couple of replacement hanger brackets can't be too hard.
