Private number plate 0o font question

so I just bought a private number plate for my e63 AMG N80 OXX. Am i legally allowed to use a plate that spells "N800 XX"??

If not i will request a refund for the plate.

I have to disagree with you here.
DVLA do sell the plates but they don't put a premium on ones that need to be misaligned.

They sell them at auction with sensible low reserve prices on them, it's the buyers and bidders who push the prices up and then misaligne them.

If you go to the dvla website and look at the auctions you'll see as much.

Why would you buy a private number plate then ask if you can change the way the characters are placed on the layout?
If you were even slightly serious you would have done your homework prior to purchase.

I am not sure what is more for concern the initial question or the fact you are on the road in a fast car and have asked the question.

If you want a plate that spells something then pay the premium price for it or befriend your local chief constable as he might sell you a spare plate that he has no use for.

I’ve never been bothered by the police, I was even pulled over for not wearing a seatbelt, and they said nothing.

As long as the font is regular size and not skewed, you’ll be fine.

I do feel sorry for the arrogant replies on here, a private number plate is not everyone’s cup of tea, but it is someone’s.

It's (mostly) an age thing, I suspect. Old farts like me think people who mess around with the spacing of letters on vanity plates should really all have plates beginning KN08; they think we're uncool, out-of-touch dinosaurs.

There was some talk a few years back about the DVLA relaxing the rules and allowing 'mispacing" as it does not affect ANPR, but I don't think much happened with this.
