Problem – AMG Floor Mats For New C-Class (W204)

Hi

My wife recently took delivery of a new C-Class Sport company car. The car was supplied by a very well known leasing company. I noticed the standard AMG floor mats (standard on the Sport model) had been switched prior to delivery with a set which had the leasing company branding/logo on instead of the AMG branding. The switched floor mats were OK, they looked custom made and fitted perfectly, however the branding sort of distracted from the whole Sport styling and experience. My wife took this up with the suppling Mercedes garage who duly apologised and sent on a full replacement set. When I tried to fit the new set the driver's mat didn't fit correctly around the accelarator pedal and sort of overlapped it (very safe!). I overlayed the new Mercedes mat on top of the switched mats and they matched perfectly except for the area around the pedals which was clearly different – annoying to say the least!

I think there are a few possibilities here: My wife's car is a 320 CDI auto, I think the mats may be for a manual model which may have a slightly different pedal set-up or possibly different accelarator pedal altogether, or the mats are designed for a Left Hand drive vehicle.

I'm hoping some clever soul here can cast some light on the situation so we can go back to the garage and point out the error of their ways!

The new Mercedes mats were packaged as: A 204 680 41 48.

Hi, just fitted some replacement MB mats recently. As I remember there is a small 'flap' which will just fit under the throttle assembly.

The heel end of the accelarator pedal is fixed to the footwell floor, so I can't see how the mat will tuck under it. I spent alot of time trying to fit the mat and it just wasn't happening. I may post a photo of the mats to show the slightly differing shapes around the pedal area.

If my understanding of your description is correct, the same is true for the AMG mats for the W203 C-Class too.

Coincidentally, my mats had been half-inched before I picked it up too!!

Hi Melv

Here's a pic of my old drivers mat.

The right flap just fitted under the floor mounted accelerator.

My new Sport Edition mats are the same apart from they dont have the left flap for foot rest.

Are yours the same shape?

try lifting the accelerator pedal slightly, IIRC there is a bit of room to slide the mat underneath

Yep set of 4 amg mats you can just see them in my photo gallery i'll check shape but i think they are the same as my old C class as kjay photo

My wife's car is not here at the moment, should be here later though, I'll try lifting the pedal as suggested, failing that I'll post some photos of both mats.

The pedal asembly is bolted to the floor with 2 nylon nuts, you wont get a mat under it. I'll check the shape of my mats and post a pic.

Not having had chance to have another look at my wife's car, I was dubious that the pedal assembly would allow sufficient movement to fit the mat under.

I would really appreciate a photo of the mat from a standard sport model – at least I can go back to the supplying garage and show them the difference (hopefully).

Sorry for not posting photo's sooner, been a bit busy!

The gap in the mat that goes around the pedal is approximatley 100mm across, it has to go around as its not possible to lift the pedal. HTH

For what it's worth, I have a brand new set of AMG mats here for a (RHD) W204 in Anthracite Black.

Part# A204 680 04 48, bought for me incorrectly as I needed the same for a W203 .

The profile of the drivers mat is exactly the same as the 'branded' mat shown on the right in Melv's photo above, and does not have the corner infill bit.

If anyone is interested in buying (at cost) please pm me. Alternatively, I'll happily swap them for an equivalent (original ) set for a W203, if that option is more cost effective for the potential buyer.

The picture helps to illustrate what you are talking about. I would say take this up with Mercedes again and show them this difference perhaps they have given you the wrong ones.
