Quick E350 CDI Sport Estate Review

I don't know about your car, but my E350 certainly has the reverse parking mirror position - I've not set it up yet, but it's there.

I believe you get the reverse parking mirror if you have the memory seats option package. I had it on my CLK but not on my E-Coupe :(

Hi

Thanks for the awesome review:D:D (couldnt resist, excuse me I am on the red wine already ho ho ho)

Is the car a 7 seater?? If so what was the room like??

Thanks

My main gripe is the parktronic. The sound only comes on within a few inches of the target. Would much prefer a more gradually phased increasing beep frequency; starting a good few feet away from target.

that's why they provide the yellow and red lights :)

I think MB parktronic rocks .. most other systems are just plain noisy

What MPG it it returning out of interest.

Can't say. I've been doing the "new car" mixture of short/long and driving like Miss Daisy/Lewis Hamilton. To be honest, if I really wanted good mpg, I would have bought the E250 instead.

Nope. I wanted the extra storage space under the floor pan instead.

Well. I guess you're used to that. What I used to do typically in the BMW when reversing into a space is look in either side mirrors and checking the blind spots either side. The incremental beeping was very useful in that situation. Thankfully, the reversing camera helps out quite a bit.

I knew a guy who had one, a saloon - he drove it really hard ( only two positions for the accelerator off and on !) there werent many cars that could embarrass it in that mode certainly in the performance area

Performance (M) - Awesome. And I thought that Sport mode was good!!

What are the driving differences between S and M?

Sport mode will allow the revs to drop below 2.5K if you lift off, so when you kick-down, you have to wait for another cog or two to be lined up before you feel the boost again.

In M mode, you can change gear to keep the revs in the top segment with a lot more control. So when you put your foot down again, you get an immediate response.

Useful for when you come up to a roundabout or a tight bend and you want to almost coast up to it but want a quick exit on the other side.

I think there's a defect in my rear view mirror - everything reflected in it seems to disappear extremely quickly.

I never had that problem in the BMW.

Price?

And would it prove to be too mental for every day use?

And could I leave "E" mode as being completely stock?

Lots.

No - it's right foot controlled ;).

No idea.

I can't find a price anywhere for the DS6, so it looks like one of these cases where if you need to know the price, you can't afford it. Is it really worth while for 0.6 second faster getting to 100kmph?

For now, I think I'm happy enough with the performance.

And reading further, E mode is pretty much unchanged. You only get the performance boost in S and M modes.

Aren't the Brabus boxes just an expensive empty black box with a wire and connector? I've not experienced anyone whose had one that actually works. :dk:

Where they score is in the midrange - it's a sizeable shove increase, which is what's attractive about diesels in the 1st place - more of what you like.

Somebody on here did get a price for one not so long ago and it was over £2k fitted
