R129 bonnet stuck

Hi all,

My R129 bonnet is not releasing on the near side, not the off-side.

I have tried to put pressure on the bonnet while getting my wife to pull the release. It only releases on the left (near side).

Not knowing how the cabling, etc works behind the scenes I have no idea what to even try next.

I do have it booked in for a service with Ollie later this week, so if can't get it sorted by then, and he can't help then the service will have to wait.

Any suggestions or help will be appreciated.

try it over 20 times and it should release and after that get some lube on the system

Both my W203's do this on occasions. Greasing the N/S catch helps. I wonder if it is caused by cable stretch? As said above. Lot's of attempts does seem to work.

ENGINE HOOD ATTACHMENT PARTS
There's a little actuator ball on the cable for the nearside catch on the cable- its not very clear from the picture as only one catch is shown - from what you say the cable is intact its just not moving the nearside catch.
