R129 Pre-Facelift AMG Bodykit / Bumpers / Skirts

Hello

Having spent the last day and a half dribbling over the SL60 in this month's Merc Enthusiast mag, and then looking out the window at the post-badger-interface front bumper on my SL, I've decided it's time to try and find some early AMG bumpers and things I have an early, pre-facelift car and much prefer the straighter lines of the early AMG kit... There are loads of late AMG kits about on the net, but not the early ones it would seem

I have NO IDEA where to start - FleaBay seems fairly poor for parts for "proper" cars, so I thought I'd ask here if anyone knows of any of these parts being available... I'm quite happy to buy parts from different sources, or a whole kit from one person, whichever turns up...

Rare as rocking horse doo da is the term usually associated with these items. I'm lucky enough to have such a kit on my 129 but I recently enquired about a replacment tow eye cover for the front bumper as mine is missing, £109 + VAT!

There was a 129 being broken a couple of weeks ago on ebay with the AMG kit but it went quickly.

Hi & welcome ... good luck with the search!

BTW you might want to check this plan out with your insurers. Could have a significant effect on your premium and/or excess as AMG parts will be a lot more expensive to repair/replace and will probably make the car more 'desirable' (increased risk of theft).

The only place you'll realistically find this is in Germany - try www.ebay.de. They have far more R129 parts than here or the US (which are different anyway).

Wouldn't that be a facelift kit Nick? He's after a pre-facelift kit like mine.

It is indeed a facelift, it's an option if he can't fine an early kit.
