To my warped vision it looks like a nasty accident between a 129 and a new SLK.

Nah, a lot cheaper to insure: covered by kitcar insurance as a total body conversion.

As for looks.. it looks ok at some angles and odd at others. For some reason it reminds me of those Toyota MR2's that were kitted to look like a Ferrari F355. You knew that something was wrong, but you just couldn't quite hit it on the head.

Nearly as bad as the w124 /w210 conversions you see but not quite... i just dont like cars that are bitza's - bits a this and bits a that .....

What a pile of turd. Save up more cash and buy an SL350 in a year or two!

Its just so wrong, the wheels are wrong, the middle 'body' is too square for the more rounded front and back. In short, it needs to be deported to Turdistan.

Well a mixed reaction! I sort of like it - though maybe without the 'SLR' bonnet. You get to keep the R129 interior, seperate roofs and rear seats with this conversion. Not something I'd do personally - though there are a few ironic comments from people who have made 'facelift' upgrades themselves instead of buying later models, albeit to a lesser extent

The separate roofs isn't something I'd personally want to keep, I find storing and re-fitting the hardtop a pain!
