R129 SL60 AMG Towing Eye Cover...Mines Been Stolen! Hopefully appears on Ebay!!

Some lowlife has stolen the towing eye cover off the front bumper of my R129 SL60 AMG.

If anyone comes across one for sale used in Azurite Blue it is probably mine so let us know please.

Shame it wasn't taken from the car when it is was on my drive as I have CCTV and would have caught the thief on camera.

On the flip side has anyone actually got one for sale? Looks sad with that little bit missing.

Some people really need their hands chopping off....I work hard to earn and save the money to buy something nice and some idiot wants a piece of it without asking. Has even scratched the lower bit of the bumper underneath slightly levering it out with what looks like a flat blade screw driver.

Bummer, sorry to hear that. I know how you feel, mine is missing too, wasn't on the car when i bought it and it just doesn't look quite right without it. Trouble is it's NLA from MB and the chances of finding one are virtually zero.

The only good thing is my one is flat so I'm going to try and fabricate one from a flat piece of bumper section and see if I can devise a way of holding it in place. I imagine yours is contoured being a later kit.

Thanks....I have found one for £125 and apparently they are about £250 from the stealers. Seems a fair amount of cash for a little piece of plastic. Then I have to get it sprayed as well. I can't see the point of replacing it if I can't find a way to secure it so it doesn' happen again. The only problem then is that they will do more damage next time trying to get it out if it is secured. Not sure I can win this one!

I don't like to be thinking along the lines of not bethering to replace it but I am not going to shell out good cash for to be nicked again. I might as well try to find out who the thief is and put them on the payroll! Or leave £250 out for them!!

Thanks d w124. That looks like the same one I found! Will think about if it is worth the time and hassle to replace it at the mo. I have plenty of better things to spend money on. Don't get me wrong I am happy to spend money on cars but don't like wasting money for no reason.

I have just sent the guy a message to see if he wants to do a nice deal for me. I shouldn't think there a queues of people waiting to buy one as there are only 50 RHD SL60's in Europe.

Plus 100 silver arrows, and various other cars that had AMG styling as an extra. The price on that isnt bad, its £200 from MB.
