Did anyone notice my suggestion its a low fuel warning light ?

More likely than a radar detector.

pssst, shh! - don't tell him its really a pin hole spy camera . . .

Easy way to test if it reacts to laser light is get someone to stand in front of the car with the TV remote control point and press and observe the light see if it comes on.

I know TV remotes aren't laser but some of the light wavelength emitted is same as laser at 904nm

Thats a good idea will have to have a go :D

W208's don't, at least mine doesn't :dk:

EDIT: Sorry just saw the CAN bit which explains the lack of it on mine :)

Its on mine flanaia a 99 W208 but you say its not on yours ? :dk:

sorry clever dicky but its not the low fuel light that one is at the bottom
of the gauge if you look at the pics

So just to confirm. Are we saying a CAN can? Or are you leading us on a dance.

A serious Q? Where is the low fuel warning light on that car?

Edit. Answered above

We are going round in circles on this thread.
So far Clive hasn't given any reason to say how he knows this is a radar/laser detector or how he has come to that conclusion or tested it to see if that's how it reacts.

All CAN equipped cars of that era have this little lens...

The low fuel light is the bottom segment of the fuel gauge, you can see it illuminated in my picture.

Clive before going any further, can you please say why you believe this to be a radar/laser warning system and how you have tested it.

I think we are all missing the point here, as I was asking would any member know
of this light function and how it would work because as explained this is not an ambeint light sensor.
so where do we go from here ?

I would take the binnacle out and have a look inside.

It's an ambient light sensor.

Clive.

Will you please answer the question, so we can move on. :)

Ok you have won guys, hear no evil see no evil admite you dont know ?

Are you having a personal crisis?
You've been told what it is a number of times yet persist with the charade that it's a radar sensor warning light.

What makes you think it is?

why is it a light sensor then can anyone explain and for what purpose ?

And how come on wis there is no detail or mention of this light ?

Where do you get that it's a radar detector warning from?

I asked first many posts back. :)

yeah and I explained many time, so where do you get light sensor from ?
