Re-fuelling.

I filled up but the pump had a limit to the amount it would charge my card (pay at pump) so I had to stop, it would have taken a bit more!
It does take a "little" while, you notice people driving in after you, filling, paying and driving off before you'e finished! Plus you have to squeeze the trigger quite hard so sometimes makes my hand ache, or is that me being a wimp?! :D

A lot of pumps will stop at £100 ( most Sainsburys do) which is now quite easy to reach, if fuel goes up much more they will have to adjust this I suppose...:(

They were removed for H&S reasons. It ensures you remain grounded to the pump and eliminates any danger of static discharge and ignition of the fuel vapours.

It is seen in the States, flash fires as people refuel and then walk off, clean the screen, buy drinks etc then on return reach for the pump handle and Zap!

Seems to be the case at supermarkets, never had it happen at Shell, BP etc.

Haven't noticed fuel stations in Europe littered with the burnt out wrecks of cars.

Of course it's not a daily occurance! But it's a potential risk and that's good enough for H&S.....
