Hi all,

Just a quick one ref my post "Thanks to Ian at 124 Works" in the Mercedes specialists across the UK forum...

First of all I'd like to thank everyone for their positive comments regarding my temporary banning from the forum.

I’d like to make my position clear that I am an infrequent poster on the site; a seeker of information rather than a technical guru like some of the chaps on here, and as such don’t post often enough to have noticed a change in the forum rules. That being said, no excuses, rules are there for the benefit of all on the forum and as such I have removed the offending advertisement. I will make the effort in future to keep up to date with rules and regulations.

Without wanting to cause any more grief than I already have can I ask why there are certain members who can advertise businesses and why some have had their signatures changed to NO ADVERTISING ALLOWED yet I am immediately banned?

Hopefully I haven’t caused Ian too much grief, sorry for any inconvenience pal. See you next service.

Thanks all,

James

We've a lot of members. What seemed like an eternity of warnings and signature ajustments for the moderators (after the change in rules) may have for the unaware such as yourself come accross as an instant ban with no noteable build up. It was just the circumstance of this one I think, fell foul when ideally it wouldn't have. Hopefully all resolved now?

There are authorised advertisers who advertise and anyone not authorised is not permitted to advertise, as clear cut as that.

Without advertising such a as a URL in a signature or anything reasonably seen as advertising, you are free to post about your experiences good or bad. We try to accomodate both within reason.
