Re setting service prompts

Just had my w210 serviced 'A'. They tried cancelling the service prompt with the reset button but it was having none of it. mDo I have to go to a stealer to get it cancelled or any suggestions?

There is probably a method in the handbook for fixing this, some combination of pressing the trip reset button and turning the key in the ignition. If your car has buttons on the steering wheel then there is probably a hidden menu option for reseting the ASSYST prompt.

I'd question using a workshop that doesn't know how to carry out this procedure!
