Yikes Tanivan that was a bad one too, I guess it shows the strength of modern cars and design. Glad you OK too.

Sorry to hear about Mrs Flanaia, glad she is on the mend. Wishing her a speedy recovery.

Very sorry to read this , Ian .

Glad to hear Mrs. F is on the mend .

For a replacement car , how about a nice S Class ? The W140 is about as safe a car as you'll find anywhere , built like tanks , and easily within the budget you mentioned ; you might just pick up a W220 for that money - my neighbour got an early S500 for less !

I likewise have had lifehammers for many years , although thankfully have never had occasion to use one , I received my first one as a Christmas gift a long time back then bought more to have one in each car .

Maybe it should be the gift of choice this coming year - the perfect thing to give all your loved ones , at the same time making the task of Christmas shopping easier ?

Cheers Derek and thanks for the kind wishes

You and me must be on the same wavelength as I have been looking at W140 and W210 as replacements will try and get a V8 as Mrs F does very few miles so fuel is not an issue, theres a couple of nice E430 and S420 + S500's about so assuming they are open tomorrow I think I will be on my travels hunting one down.

Blimey mate. I hope Mrs F is making good for a speedy recovery.

Sounds like a very scary experience. Glad you wife is (relatively) alright.

Regards

David
