Guys,

A friend of mines owns a pair of 2012/3 E class saloons and runs them as part of his executive travel (other words posh taxi) and keeps going on about heated rear seats......

Recently he has had someone fit a heated seat kit from eBay I assume and all works very well I hear. However the buttons you get with the heated kit he purchased look terrible.

I've showed him on eBay that you can buy the rear heated seat switches, but does anyone know what the wiring contacts are for the switch (12v in, 12v out, GND, light in, thermostat) or similar? If he could use the MB switches do the have a timer built in?

A bit random but so is he!

That will be a very low current switch that talks to the nearest controller (possibly door controller, as they are in the doors). That will then talk over the car's network ("CAN") to the device that powers the heated seat elements.

I,e you're going to have to do some serious electronics to make that work !

Thanks Richard, that what I was kind of thinking. Shame as the switches he had with the kit look very very tacky and out of place.
