Hi guys,

I had my rear screen replaced today by a company called jayandrobs windscreens...
Im not happy with the result as sealent is oozing out from underneath the rubber...
also they took the interior trim out above the rear parcel shelf and that was not even put back in right!

arggghhhhhhh!!! charge me £120!!!

Dear oh dear...

Well, I feel sorry for the poor sods who do the windscreen on the Alfa (it may shortly have a centre punch related incident...it's the original screen w/Alfa markings - nice on the originality stakes, but it's in a poor state, chipped and generally rough)

To get the screen out requires removal of the scuttle panel, which requires the removal of the wipers...which requires you to take the bonnet off. Needless to say, I shall be watching them like a hawk.

Beware that AutoGlass (for one) will repair the screen rather than replace it if the damage is "smaller than a pound coin".

But obviously if it's your money rather than an insurance job they will do whatever you want!

Mmm...had that one come up with the Civic...told them they probably wanted to bring a new screen just in case, and got the reply "Oh, we can probably repair them sir"...

Engineer turns up to find a windscreen with 17 separate stone chips..."well, I did warn you!"
