Hello

The rear wash on my S211 does not work? the wipe does but no water.

Not a major issue as I hardly ever need it with water also as if its raining then thats ok...

However I would like to get it working? I've tried a pin in the jet but nothing from that.

Now I'm not being silly and there is not a water fill up in the boot as well as under engine is there? Any other places to look / try?

Thanks

Can you hear the pump going when pressing the button? If so, there is a joint that comes undone in the water tube behind the boot panel on the offside, just below the window line. You're probably spraying water all over your alarm ECU each time you try it. Just press it together again.

This joint pops apart if trying to wash when the nozzle is frozen.

Aha, I've had this on my pre facelift.

The pipe freezes and pops off at the connection.

Raise the tailgate.
Pull off the RHS trim panel with the vents in the top (it's tight put it does come off without fixing damage).
You will see the connector.
Remake the joint and lag.
Hey presto.

If you've not had a frost then I'm talking complete botox.

Same thing happened to me re the broken joint. A tell tale is a damp carpet

I've not noticed any water when I open the boot?

Its also not been cold lately.

However I will have a look.

I will have to check the noise bit thats a good idea could it just be the pumps kaput

IIRC it was the nearside passenger floor that was damp

Hello

I had a 2 minuite look at this as I got home last night, am I in the right area?

I looked behind the black carpet stuff and couldn't see anything obvious? looked like where the Command kit would be or CD changer?

Didn't feel wet, or am I in the wrong place?

ooops reading the above....

I think I'm looking on the wrong side?

this was the left side as I'm looking in the boot.

this was the left side as I'm looking in the boot.

:D

 I know I know....

I even went the wrong way on my driving test, he said turn left and I turned right....

Still passed mind :)

Ok will do a take II when I can

Result I hope.....

Walked back from work and before I even walked in the house opened the boot as I had a little bit of daylight.

Pulled the panel off (the correct side:))

Didn't see anything at first......then spotted some water on the floor next to a big plug thing = not good I guess....

Anyway then I spotted the fault.....sure as eggs are eggs as you said cable popped off...

Quite awkard to pop back on as all very tight (why does it need to be so tight..) anyway I popped it back.

This is what ever it was getting a bit wet....so I've left the panel off and will dry out tomorrow.

I havn't tried it yet but its looking very likely it should just work now,

Thanks all :bannana::bannana:

What side of the car was it on. A garage fixed mine while it was being MOT'd but I've no idea what side it was, thought it was the nearside

Hello as you open the boot it was on the right hand side.

The vented fins you see at the top it was that panel, pull it forward and that's it.

Really was a 2minuite job (as it was raining also)

I will test tomorrow but see no reason now why it would not work?

It will work - till the next freeze - I'd lag as much of it as possible past the union - don't forget, that's not where it freezes, but where the weak point is - where it pops off under pressure.

Now, that the problem is sorted, can I please post this - I've been dying to :bannana:
