Dear All,

I recently changed the fuel filter on the car.

The car has always started on the button for the 6 months that i have had the car.

Last week it started to get a bit reluctant to start. Taking a few seconds turning over before firing.

On switching on the ignition you would hear the fuel pump run for a second or two then switch off. Then i would start the car. But now it is taking a few seconds of turning the engine before firing.

Now lets say i am an idiot and got the two fuel pipes on the back of the filter the wrong way round, would this cause this problem. I changed the fuel filter about 3-4 weeks ago. The two fuel pipes on the front of the filter are different diameters so cannot be fitted incorrectly.

Any ideas.

Once running it is fine and runs sweetly and up to 6k rpm.

regards David

Is the filter the right way round? Check the fuel pressure when the car dies this too see if it's fuel related. A gauge is needed to do this.
