Hello all,

Has anyone got any tips for taking the sideskirts/ sill covers off of a w202 c class sport?

As far as i can see its held on by the rectagle shaped clips underneath, but i cant seem to get them to move or come out!

Also, does anyone know how the rubber seal along the bottom of the doors is attached, and how i would remove it?

I cant see any clips for that, it looks as if it should slide off, but they are all stuck!

Any help would be much appreciated, as i'm trying to sort out all the silly little bits of rust on the car!

Thanks in advance!

Jon

The side sills have clips that you can see on the main floor, these twist. Then between the sill trims and the inside of the door shuts you need a trim removing tool to carefully pop the clips off upwards then the same at the bottom of the wings.
The trims on the bottom of the door pop off in the same way :thumb:

I got the rubber at the bottom of the doors off :D, thanks for that!

I am still having trouble with the side skirts, the clips are not moving, i dont want to force them and then snap anything! Just in case i will not be able to get the other bit out!

I have tried a large slot head screwdriver in the middle of the clip, will not turn either way, then tried pliers and grips around the whole clip, still will not move!! :wallbash: Is there a special tool required for these, Any further help would be gratefully received, Thanks in advance!!

I took mine off a while back, never got around to refitting them. It was no more than a Haynes 'two spanner' job = easy...
A good time to arrest that hidden corrosion or apply preventative measures (aka black Waxoyl)

Thats what i was planning to do, once i get them off!!

Just grip 'em, twist 'em...and pull down, maybe jiggle about a bit, ISTR?
