Hi,

Think of getting a new exahust on my w208 CLK230k, to add a bit of noise.

My worry is that I end up getting something that makes my car sound like it's travelling at 100mph when it's only doing 15mph.

A REMUS Wild Label exahust is in my price range, but I've struggled to find any opinion/review of it.

Hopefully someone on here has one?

Cheers

will wait till i get home to listen, can't do that in the office. cheers.

I've just had a look at the YouTube link and they're all boy-racer mobiles!!

Is that what you really want?

No it's what I'm trying to avoid! However, I do believe that REMUS make the exhausts for Brabus, so they can't be all bad!

Must also take into account that a lot (not all!) of people who film exhausts will be "boy racers"

I agree, Rossyl, that they needn't all be boy racers, but it just struck me that all the videos that came up were Corsa, Golf, Astra, Mazda323 etc. Not a decent sized engine amongst them!!

Having said that, if REMUS make Brabus exhausts they're obviously doing something right.

Good luck in your quest for something to listen to before you commit yourself.

The Remus silencer you really want for your car comes in at around £800

Yet the lottery keeps evading me! Might leave it stock. Better to do that, then end up with something awful sounding.

An unbranded, aftermarket box fitted by specialists would be cheaper and could be tuned to make the noise you want.

I've been to three different specialists who all say they can tune the exhaust to your noise level but none of them actually have, every exhaust done by them sounded like a boy racer exhaust.

Best to go for the Remus exhaust spike suggested.

I quite liked Shude's idea till I heard this. Unfortunately, the fact is I cannot afford £800. £200 is my ceiling, and beyond that i think it's a complete waste of cash.

Might continue to look for a CLK 55 exhaust/chat to Olly if I make it down to his GTG.

Oi! ;)

I'd take it to a Powerflow agent, Top Gear in St Albans specifically. They seem to know what they're talking about and the work done on both my cars was superb. Baccal can comment on the end result, for good or bad :)

Cheers Mazza, will check out the website, and good to know you heard it and it sounded good.

Thanks Gridlock. Olly and Willow both recommended Powerflow as well, so i might give that a crack, post payday/contract extention (contract ends at the end of this month, fingers crossed!):)
