I had the coil light on for few seconds after the engine started. I've check codes and it says glow plug on cylinder 2. I've replace the glow plug and no difference. After engine start it comes on and stays for few seconds. Any idea?

Relay?

As above sounds like the relay. Out of curiosity, what does the code reader read now?

Had same problem, changed the relay then it was fine

Didn't had chance to check as my spring has exploded :(

Update. Replaced the glow plug and replace the glow plug relay. Coil spring light still coming on :(
Do I need to delete the codes on code reader or it's not plug and relay that causing the problem ?? :(:(

Are you 100% positive you replaced the right glowplug?

What vehicle is this? Presumably not the C180K in your profile!

No its the E320cdi. On code reader it says cylinder 2 so I replaced that one on cylinder 2.

Its best to change all glow plugs as a blown one can blow the relay also and the relay isn't cheap.

Don't scare me :eek::wallbash:
I just put new relay .
So should I now go work tomorrow and plug to snap on to read the codes or don't start the engine, order rest 5 glow plugs and replace them?
But to replace them I will have to start the engine and warm it up anyway

What code(s) are shown now? If you still have it, test the plug you took out ... just to be sure.

I know it's possible but my OM642 has had 5 plugs go over a period of about 7 years ... they've only ever been replaced one at a time, as recommended (MB dealer).

I need to read it tomorrow. But those where before I've replace the plug and relay. Ive used snap on solus ultra(actually I think that after I replace the glow plug the codes where the same)

2510- check component Y77/1 (boost pressure regulator) Positioner signal fault
1612-test signal at terminal 15. No signal
2616- check component B60 (exhaust back pressure sensor) control variation. The exhaust back pressure is to low.
2134- glow plug cylinder 2

The first and third code is probably from turbo/actuator which I have in plans to do it as well.

its advice given on the forums sorry , they recon if a plug blows it can blow the relay with it , so best to change all at once , im no expert myself but when you spend £90 on a relay the last thing you want to chance is another old glow plug blowing it again . hopefully changing the rest will sort you out and possibly you changed glow plug 4 not 2 , unsure which end number 1 is on the L6 engine .

Looking at the engine from front I've replaced second from top on right hand side
