I found out today that MB have discontinued supplying wiper rubbers about 2 months ago. So instead of paying approx £6 to renew your wiper rubber you now have to spend £18 for a complete replacement wiper blade. Yet another MB cash in.

I'll be off down the local motor factors on the weekend then.

Yes, I found out too - my independent appologised at my B service last week, but said he had to fit the full item due to the same reason.

I wish I could buy wiper blades for my 140 series S class for £18, they cost £58 plus Vat from Euro Car Parts or £95 plus from the dealers,

This is one rare case where the aftermarket sources win over! ;)

I bought a full Bosch wiper blade a few months back (whole assembly and the rubber). 10-second click in, click out fitting - total price £7.95 including VAT (GSF car parts).

Yup....and there's even a little black dot that turns bright yellow when it's due for renewal (having said that, mine turned yellow after about 6 months, wiper still fine - so I've just ignored it. Good sales ploy though Bosch!)

LOL ;)

Where's this dot then?. I'm fascinated. That said I think one of the best parts of having a 'new' car is the near silence you get from the wiper rubbers for those first few months. So, I dont mind changing mine often.

And another thing. My Mercedes has the old fashioned? type of blade which I find to be good enough. Our Polo has the new Bosch floppy aero thingy which I find to be as noisy as....... Anyone else noticed this with the new Bosch Aero blades?.

It's right in the middle of the upper side of the wiper arm, so that you can see it from the drivers position when the wiper is parked. However, my car is a W202 (single wiper) so maybe they are different for other models. On the other hand, I may have got hold of an 'odd' one, bu it's definitely Bosch and it came from ECP.
