Yes but I think you can get a filler panel for the existing bootlid, which is what gurpz was referring to.

Thats right its available seperate to buy and would be ideal to add as you have already done so much work on the car already. Sp!ke might be able to advise further her as I believe he got it fitted on his pre-facelift coupe too.
 
No engine up grades i just rebuilt the bottom end,not after power just looks,but i would of liked a 320.

But the road tax in ireland for that size engine is not far off 1500 euros for the year.

i dont like them filler panels i have one on my w124 coupe now :thumb:
i think the amg ducktail spoiler will set the back of the car off when fitted.

Got new front and rear windscreens delivered today to the garage.
 
What a fantastic project you have there! I can't wait to the see the finished article. That colour is striking for a 124, and it'll be superb with the AMG kit :)

You say no to more power, however Mosselman do/did a turbo charger for that engine. It gave around the same power as a 320 engine....just thought I'd put that info out there ;)

What's the plan for the interior? A retrim? Adding factory options?

im still thinking what to do about the interior retrim or dye the seats same colour as there not that bad:doh:.

i love the amg kit on the w124,its a gen 1 kit i have.........
 
Im sure it will look great :) ...I did a w123 coupe down this level several years ago and it really is a lot of work.

In post number 12 is that as set of chrome AMGs in the background fitted to that merc outside the doorway ??

Looks very nice. To think I was going to buy the car for the kit and wheels, glad its being restored to its former glory!
 
It was in a very sad state when i got delivered to ireland last year.

There are so few Mercedes that look good in Fire Engine red, but the W124 is the exception.
