Review of 'New' MB Sat Nav system

So in short, if navigation is your sole reason for wanting COMAND, save the £2000 and buy a tomtom.

If you want COMAND for all the other bits and pieces, go for it.

Depends on the model of car and your need for full postcodes on those cars that dont yet offer it. Also it doesnt 'have' to cost £2,000;)

My W212 has full 7 digit post codes but only for SOME areas. Like they couldn't be bothered buying the data for the whole country.

The fact it has some shows the software is capable and it's just the data that is lacking.

I have been told the 7 digit postcodes are for POIs not normal streets.
Also the latest SL, SLK, R Class, M, and I think GL have 7 digit postcodes; so what's their problem doing it for the others.
I must say the S212 Comand Sat Nav I've just bought is a big improvement on the 211 Comand Sat Nav.

Incredible to me that Mercedes can accept that my Garmin from several years back is way ahead of today's satnav in the new E class. Glad to see several makers are now building cars with option of a Garmin dock (like an i-pod dock, you just slide it in the slot and no wires), The BMW X1 is one of those that offer this option.
