I had the salesmans E220cdi coupe for a day whilst the C63 was having the interior trim swapped. I found it to be more than adequate, quite torquey and relaxing to drive. Only did about 100 miles chauffering Mrs Fizzer and youngest around the shops but certainly didnt feel short changed.

Collected the car after work this afternoon.
Fantastic attention from the dealership. I must say that Mercedes Benz of Giffnock, Glasgow have been outstanding. If you want a contact there, PM me and I will happily tell you that Jon Christie is the guy to deal with.
My new car is a different animal from the S500. It is no longer the wolf in luxury wool.
It's chassis is tight, the cabin is a nice place to be, the ride is firmer than Airmatic but totally expected and the engine is more than powerful but obviously lacks the brutality of a V8.
The car is a definite head-turner. It's already had very positive comments from some of my neighbours.
Have I made the right decision - HELL YES !!!!!

So it's the E220cdi, right? Agreed this engine has plenty poke in an E having sat in the back of various private hire saloon versions.

I prefer the style of the E Coupe. Simple enough answer.
Car is surprisingly rapid.
Maybe it's the most brilliantist, besest car in the entire uber-verse ?
