Road Tax

in 2011, K* is likely to be reversed - unless the government changes!

Reading down towards the bottom there is a heading 'Trade Licences' , and 'all vehicles' were listed as £166 , or so .

For someone with a collection of a few cars , it might be cheaper to 'become' a trader and run around with one's trade plates on whichever car you fancy - since the plates can be swapped around at will !

Or are there further hidden costs involved ?

Someone 'in the trade' please enlighten ?
I will try to get some more input into this.

My thoughts are that 'trade plates' can only be used by a trader in connect with their business, the vehicle cannot be parked on a highway and there must be at least an employee of the business in the car. In other words you cannot let any tom, richard, or harriet take out the vehicle.

I have no idea how long we have had lpg powered vehicles, but I do know that ever since they were introduced wehave had folks saying that the costs of lpg will go up 'next year' I get bored with those posts and I would not buy a car because the co2 may or may not be in a different price bracket.. I will buy what car I want, when I want and I do not6 care what government may, or may not be in power.

My 2007 3.0 V6 CDI emits 244 g/km CO2 but the road tax is only £185 a year :bannana:

and I wonder what chance there is of that happening.....:)

I think we should organise a street party when Gord gets the message and walks the plank.

Huh? How is that then? Ought to be about £400++
Because it's a Vito ... therefore a "Light Goods Vehicle" for road tax (even though only insured & used for social, domestic, & pleasure).

Well, a friend of mine has W reg Vauxhall Vectra 2.5 V6, and he's paying 185 as well. So I think It just depends on the place, where the Tax Disc was issued.

If he is paying £185 it must be a "light good vehicle":confused:.

There is no duty at £185 for a car. He must be paying £190 and told you it was " about £185". From my earlier post it can't be made any clearer:doh::doh:
