At the risk of outraging the purists , i have followed Druks example, and opted to fit non - Mercedes seats in my SL107 . Druk has some great looking Saab 9000 seats in his. I have just bought some blue leather , electric, heated seats from a Rover 75 ( E -bay purchase , not yet collected ). At 90 quid i thought i would chance them fitting , but wondered if anyone else has made this conversion ? ( its ok i wont tell anyone else ! ). Any photos of modded 107s would be appreciated .

I presume you've sat on such seats in a Rover/MG?

My mate has one of these and I find its pews about as comfortable as a park bench.

Hi Del320 . A mate of mine has a Rover 75 with similar seats , very comfy ,more so than my originals , which are pretty well shot. Worst case scenario , have to get them reupholstered.
Cheers
Martin:)

i suspect aslong as you get the runners from the donor car aswell as the seats themselves, you'll be on your way. If they are electric then are the switches on the seats themselves? if not where are you going to mount the switches and do you have them & the wiring etc.

other than that, i guess its just a case of fabricating a bracket to attach the new seat runner to the car's existing mounts....

personally, i'm a purist, but do agree Derek's Saab seats look the business, especially since he has had them recovered in that nice leather.

Thanks Silversaloon , unfortunately the seller had disposed of the car with the seat runners still in it. Not a major problem as a friend of mine has offered to make some brackets for me.The seats are complete with motors and integral switches. Only tricky part ( says he hopefully ) will be sliding the seat forwards/back , may have to buy some runners after all.:o
