Does anyone treat their door & window seals? I seem to remember reading somewhere MB sell "Gummi-Fleige" (?) to keep seals flexible and protected from UV degredation.

I apply a littel AutoGlym Vinyl and Rubber treatment, certainly keeps them looking fresh :o but does it do any good? :dk:

Ive only ever used silicone spray and then only as a lubricant for the glass.

I use mercedes special sliding compound. It's expensive but a little goes a long way. The pn is A 000 989 36 60

Whitenemesis,

The product you seek (as its good also for preventing frozen seals) is called Einzett (1Z) Gummi Pflege.

It's easy to apply off a cloth and works!

I see someone's selling it on Ebay in stick form - looks like a deodorant - for just over a fiver.

Is that the stuff?

They also do the same item but it comes like in a roll on deodorant type bottle, making it easier to apply

A bit of silicone grease rubbed into the seal, then wiped off with a dry cloth works equally well. It keeps the rubber seals supple and theyre not prone to drying or crazing.

Rolls Royce Driver Training suggest the use of petroleum jelly (vaseline to you and me) at least once a month. Coat the rubber seal with athin film and wipe of excess with a damp cloth.
