I am so upset! Firstly ive just joined so hello and thank you all for being here.....i also could not find exactly my prob so i am posting a new thread.
I have a C200 komp, elegance auto, 2001.
I bought it 18 months ago and no problems.......had it serviced when service was due etc....
So.... i lost my keys 2 months ago, Ok so i have 2 spares.....so i start using one of them, grand....Now about three weeks ago i notice it takes 2 or 3 hits on the Fob (Lego brick) key to undo the central locking, the next day it takes 5 or six and this continues on and on ...im thinking its something to do with the weather, bot fob keys have power in them as the internal red light comes on....Eventually i can not open the car unless i remove metal key blade from fob and manually open causing alam to activate ..this worked once or twice in that the car started once i replaced blade into fob and inserted........Then that stopped working....Talk to mercedes wandsworth bridge...and have it towed over...they check it out and tell me i need to order a new key (they said they do go after a number of years(im not so sure)) so i order it and pay 140 pounds, i collect it yesterday drive home happy to be in my car again , yet again this morning as i casualy presed to fob to access the car...no cigar.....enraged as i had an important meeting , i tried the manual option but again no joy......my neighbours are getting seriously peed off too with the alarm going off when i open it manualy as a last resort.......
Can some one please help
BTW I RANG MY SERVICE GUY TODAY BUT HE NEVER GOT BACK TO ME....I SHOULD BE OUT TONIGHT BUT IM STUCK WITHOUT MY CAR YET AGAIN...
