I think my neighbours 250D has the premium pack , it doesn't have the auto-opening tailgate though. He was quite relieved as he wants to put a towbar on it .

Strange that he has the premium pack which includes keyless entry but yet you say no 'kick' opening.

Yeah I mean the 250d is 200hp (210 even?) as standard...you're looking 230 plus with a remap. Silly power and acceleration from 4 pot diesels, I had an E39 BMW 535i V8 M Sport not so long back - was 'fast' at the time and would now be embarrassed by a standard 250d!

Yes. It's impressive. If you think back to the first ever oil burners they put in the Sierra's and Cavalier's (showing my age now eh? ((42))) today's engines are amazing and the torque will feel nice compared to our little B180d I'm sure.

I may not feel the need for a remap but we'll see.

I'm wondering if MB Will design & build a 3litre d to compete with BMW's 335d? 0-60 in 4.8 seconds for the saloon is barmy. Although current 3 series is very old design compared to exciting new C Class.

Does anyone know if we'll notice a difference because its first ever RWD car we've ever had?

RWD is the only way to go...you'll notice the difference in traction and handling immediately. No plans for a 6 block diesel in the C as far as I know. Even BMW are going down the line of silly power 4 blocks...the latest 330i is a 4 block twin turbo!

Haha...washed and polished that very morning! The registry office car park was dusty though, so the tyres looked dirty again instantly!
