As above completly astonished just filled up after 264 miles 22.35 ltr's! thats nearly 54mpg!

This was a trip to lakeside and Colchester with the wife and kids sitting at 65mph (yes ok) lol and a slightly faster 70mph on the way back.

Cant believe how economical this Merc is. ive seen normal running about between 38 - 44 first time ever ive had a car which has done 54mpg lol

I always brim the tank and set the trip then brim again once ive done a few miles:bannana:

These engines certainly can be very frugal on the fuel especially if well looked after as yours obviously is

Yeah its a little strange i used to drive my Volvo t5 hard it always just wanted to go, (my fault i built it like that)

Got the Merc and i dunno, its stranged its such a nice comfortable drive i never feel like driving it quick. Dont get me wrong i have opened it up once or twice but im just happy cruising along reminds me of my 380 sel i had in certain ways.

I think also knowing your driving a desiel i think oh well whats the point lol. (quite wrongly) as they can get a wiggle on lol.

It is a mellow place to be in a 211, I've noticed I'm much more courteous than in my old 124, maybe it's just that I'm getting older ...
