This one came up on my searches today.

Seems a bit confusing as not silly high miles and says in good condition. However, I have never seen an interior so worn on one of these. So seems a little odd and not so consistent.

What is more odd to me than the front seat wear is the rear seat wear.

A bit weird it is listed as a 2003 car when the current number plate suggests it was registered May 2004. I could see why someone might try to make a car seem newer than it is but seems an odd thing to make it seem older than it seems to be.

Current owner looks like only had for just over a month so not sure why this might be.

Rare colour too, I am fond of it. I don't know what's going on with that interior though, as you say, never seen one THIS worn.

Rare?.....yep.....its very rare to find one with an interior in that poor a condition for "only" 140,000 miles......has he kept dogs/chickens in it!!?? A complete interior refurb will make that cars pretty expensive. For those that worry about those sort of things the MOT history is pretty patchy too....its passed most years but mostly with lots of advisories.

Slip of the finger?

Bought very cheaply because it's so tatty inside, with the intention of flipping it?

2003 model year car perhaps?

Green flags: these engines can do big miles if serviced, no rust (unless he's only taken a photo of the one wheel arch without it), MOT history has nothing major
Red flags: he's owned it a month and something has made him change his mind.... hmmmmm:eek:. That interior makes me wonder if it was nicked and slashed ? Weird.
But interiors can be changed.
Offer him 5k :)

This was my thinking too as I have never ever seen an interior with these many issues or that much wear all over in any car. Even the rear facings are very worn. To have a passenger seat to have worn bolsters that needed duck tape is odd and unusual. Even the passenger side front centre armrest has huge issues. It is what it is so you bid accordingly but the underlying issue would be.....why? Even a car with 500k miles I don't think would have that much wear or damage. These cars and interior wear really well and are pretty hardy.

Maybe had lots of dogs or pets possibly but still doesn't explain it all I don't think.

I don’t think I’ve ever seen an interior as damaged as that !

I've had 4 x S211 E55K's and all have been around similar mileages about 100k-120k with all similar interiors. All of them very good condition with minimal wear or issues. It doesn't make sense to me.

Yes, maybe. Rightly or wrongly I always see how much care or attention people apply to their cars or sales ads. Not always but often can be an indication of how much care or attention people apply to looking after their cars. Some people care and some people care less. Some don't care at all.

Spot on. Came out of the factory in September 2003; one of the first of the 804 model year.
Yes, possibly. All the more reasons to list it as a MY04 car though if it is a later revised MY car. Hard to see from those pics. I guess many are not aware there is a later revised MY car or maybe less of a consideration for some. I've always tried to seek out the later revised MY cars.

Wonder if its Nappa or premium leather? Looks like it's been in heavy use or something. Bodywork looks straight.
