2007 S211 estate
Hi all

I've just bought a 2007 E220 estate. I plan to fit an aftermarket parking sensor. Has anyone done this please?

Is it fairly easy to track down a reverse light feed to wire it from? Where's the easiest point to use?

Thanks!
Ed

The reverse light?

It is about 6" away, how much easier do you want it to be?? :)

Welcome by the way.

Thanks, Is that the best way to do it, just tap off the bulb supply? Or do I need a bypass relay?

Thanks
Ed

Most aftermarket kits expect you to wire it into the bulb.

Great choice of car, miss mine every day.

I believe the reversing light is in the lamp clusters on the tailgate. The kit that was fitted to mine long before I bought it has a wire from the tailgate lamps next to the OEM loom at the hinge and thence down the D-pillar to the RH rear quarter where the module is.

Here's my module. Reverse wire coming down from the D pillar, sensor wire bundle exits just out of shot through the rubber flap vent. Module is bolted to an existing point, bottom mount only.

...and here's the wire coming from (I presume) the reverse light into the car. A bit messy - if I ever need to work in that area I'll persuade it inside the trunking.
