Just got the car, just moved house, no time to RTFM - so I've got a few quick questions.

Gearchange S/C button - what does this mean? (I am used to summer/winter...)

Nav Voice - how do I turn the volume down? It's LOUD in my car.

Nav - how do I turn it off mid-journey?

CD Changer - where is the pause button?

Thanks

1 - S = Sport, C = Comfort
2 - Use the steering wheel + - buttons to adjust volume while it's speaking
3 - Not sure - mine has Linguatronic and I say "cancel navigation"
4 - Sorry, never needed to pause mine!

Nav: Press the "Nav" button inthe block of function buttons on the left side. A prompt appears "Do you want to cancel the current navigation. Click "OK" button on right side.

Pause: Press the "Mute" buton. In Radio mode this mutes the sound but in CD mode this pauses the CD (which effectively mutes it too).

Nav: Press the "Nav" button inthe block of function buttons on the left side. A prompt appears "Do you want to cancel the current navigation. Click "OK" button on right side.
.

Tried it - it worked - cheers

Press the button with a "EAR" picture while it repeats the last instruction turn the volume knob to the left i.e. anti clockwise until the volume is suited to you. Repeat until satisfied.

One nice feature I've seen on some W211 but not all, is a small temperature wheel inbetween the two central air vents.

I gather this means you can set the cc to your desired temp, so the whole cabin is just right, but still have cool air blowing on your face. I suppose of more use in winter when wanting warm air to your feet, but fresher air on your face.

Hope that's of relevance to your car :)

Nope - that wheel cost 57p to manufacture and was clearly deemed an unecessary frivolity so they deleted that a couple of years before LondonScottish's car was made.

That's interesting. I thought (having recently seen a 53-plate 211 with 4-zone climate) that this was a feature of the 4-zone kit. Now I see that it was available on the 2-zone kit of that era as well.

My 2005 2-zone does not have it. Neither presumably does the 2005 4-zone.

Damn accountants...

Nope - but I'm still v happy discovering I have four zone (I thought I had two zone).

And was also very happy discovering this morning that the steering column adjusts for height and reach (electrically). Great bonus.

I think you are embarking on a voyage of discovery equal in magnitude to that of Columbus!

Talking of which, did you know that the central rear armrest has a lidded cubby perfectly shaped for the Handbook?

I think the E500 has 4-zone as standard.

Have you found the CD changer and its very theatrical operation yet? Amused me when I found it...

Yes found it - but only after the dealer called the previous owner.

V theatrical :-)

Now go RTFM!!!! Lol..... :D

I just dug in out to see if I could figure out the lighting. And failed. Although I now know I have ambient lighting. If I could figure it out.

What I do know is that the main manual is 490 pages long.......and then there's the COMAND one.....
