S211 Xenon Headlights - Advice Please

Hi.

My S211 has the Factory Xenon's. The bulbs are pretty dim I suspect they're still the originals.

I'm hoping to replace them with like for like. Not interested in any of this fancy blue gas discharge stuff - just want a brighter light for night driving than I currently have but as close to factory spec as possible.

I've never replaced a Xenon bulb before so this is a new challenge for me.

Are these i) the right bulbs, and ii) a realistic price?
Seems an awful llot of money for 2 bulbs but maybe that's just how it is!

Philips D2S 4800K X-treme Vision Bulb

Any advice, or suggestions for good bulb suppliers much appreciated.

Can't comment on the correctness of the type but the price is about right. You'll pay almost twice that for a single lamp from MB.

If yours are anything like mine on the CLS, you'll need child like hands and double jointed fingers to get the old ones out and fit the new.

I bought similar lamps (Osram) from Amazon and asked my dealer to fit them. Always buy branded lamps, avoid ebay cheapo versions.

Yes they are the correct type and agree with WN regarding buying branded bulbs

HID Xenon Gas Discharge replacement bulbs in D2S fitting. Replacement lamps for OEM HID systems.

I have changed them on mt W210 but this was before the headlamps were fitted. I can see it being awkward with the lamps in place.

Also remember there are very high voltages in there

If the price for the Philips Extreme Vision is correct (I suspect its a mistake) at HID-Direct then buy them, thats cheap......just make sure they have the Philips hologram seal when you get them.
