Hi guys hope you all are well. I’m not sure if I’m being stupid here but I can’t get my a/c to work. When I have the heating on and press the a/c button it flashes a few times and goes off? Can’t remember having this problem in my old w212 e63. I tried fiddling in with various zones and options but can’t get the a/c light to stay on?

Thanks.

When it flashes like that it means there is no refrigerant gas pressure.
You probably have a leak from the condenser infront of the radiator.
Thanks for the quick reply. That makes sense then, I’m hoping it’s just ran out of gas and the condenser doesn’t need replacing

Take it for a regass first where they will check to see if it’s leaking. If it’s ok they’ll regass it, if not you may need a condensor. They can be found for a reasonable amount.

Thanks man

Unfortunately, hope rarely triumphs over experience. If it has no gas, there’s a leak: condenser or compressor are the most likely culprits.

I always think it is best to use a vehicle aircon specialist ,I know that a friend of mine from around your way uses a company at Whickham,of course that may not be near you,the thing is you tend to find them cheaper if you have to get a new condensor, and if it just needs a regas then you know they will put the right pressure into the system.

If it turns out that you do need a condenser then give me a shout and I’ll find the details of the one I bought last year. OEM is triple the price. You need to ensure the aftermarket one has the right dimensions otherwise it won’t mount correctly.
