I want to backup a recently purchased 2005 DX UK/Ireland disk as I have had a fault occur on a previous disk - anyone out there managed same ?

I tried to, but my system would not read the backup copy.

Sat Nav Disk Backup

A recent post on another board mentioned that Alcohol 120% s/w with a Lite-On burner should just about do it - will test over weekend.

Alcohol 120% & Sat Nav Disks

Unfortunately after using every concievable method the backup disk will not read - dam and blast.

Anyone else out there with additional info?

I have managed to backup a 2004 DX TMC disk without any problems. You must use a decent copying programme and copy the disk as an ISO image otherwise it doesnt work in your COMAND afterwards.

If you want to send me the disk I'll copy it for you :) PM me if you are interested.

Disk backup saga continues

Used Alcohol120% with a Lite-on DVD re-writer which could copy fivers and that does not work. TeleAtlas have done a real number on copy protecting this disk.

I have heard from another source that B's Recorder Gold 5 may work - any experience of that out there ?

I did mine in a commercial copying machine and it still didn't work

Try using Clone DVD.
