SD card - how do you wipe it.....

there are a few things you can try, not sure ithey will work, take card out and do a soft reset, put card back in and see if it works, if not try a hard reset,that worked for me, can you put your card in PC through a card reader and see if that shows up anything, if you have a backup of your files you could always format it and reload, i can't really think that the card is knackered but i suppose its possible, let me know how you get on. Good idea Robert, I tried it in my digi camera and the camera sees it. In fact I formatted it in the camera anyway.

BUT - no joy with the pda, still cannot see any SD staorage card Did soft resets - lots - to no avail.

I'm beginning to think it might be the pda, Compaq 3950. A hard reset may solve it - is it easy enough to do?

I have a full backup to restore with . . .

Mine is a DellAxim x30 and the hard reset is very easy,all i have to do is push a little button and the back and hold the on/off button for two seconds, then its start from scratch,only problem i have is screen alignment and have found that if you gently hold the stylus on the cross it works but if you just keep tapping it you can be doing it for years.
