Sealed transmission oil leak

MB specialist told me the Mercedes W203 Avantgarde (2001) transmission is a sealed unit and you can’t change the ATF. What would you do if it is leaking?

Get a different specialist, there is no such thing as a sealed gearbox.

Fix the leak then change the fluid.

MB specialist told me the Mercedes W203 Avantgarde (2001) transmission is a sealed unit and you can’t change the ATF. What would you do if it is leaking?

There is a drain plug and also the sump cover is removeable to allow you to change the filter. How do I know? Well my MB specialist told me and showed me on my car on Friday.

A common place on these for the gearbox to leak is the pilot bush, I was quoted £18 for the part and half an hour to fit plus topping up the gearbox

Many thanks for your replies.
First I went to Merc Dealer, for a transmission fluid change. After a diagnostic test they came up with a £1850 quote.
Then I went to a Merc specialist, and ask again to change the transmission fluid. They told me that the transmission in Avantgarde is a sealed unit and you can’t change the fluid, is this correct?
The car is 2001 model and has done 35 K.
Recently it was coming up with “Transmission Fault go to workshop” error. That is way I wanted to change the Trans fluid.

Any information on C class 2001 Tiptronic transmission valve block please. This is a semi automatic gearbox,

Valve Block is leaking. It has Magneti Moreli Sensor that is faulty.

Any idea?
