Hi Chaps,
I just fitted a comand from a w210 into my w208 with no problems. Im just waiting for a nav disk now to make sure that side of it is ok.

What Im amazed at though is the lack of security in the comand itself. No keycodes, no removable facia - its a tealeafs delight!

The beauty of comand is that it looks like a boring oem-supplied headunit and not the kind of shiny-silver thing I'm sure the thieves are looking for.

Martyn,

Dont forget to calibrate it when you get your nav disk. You need to tell it exactly where you are (or wait for it to find enough satellites to work it out), plus you need to input your exact wheel size etc. Press NAVI then settings once your nav disk is loaded, then calibrate.

Let us know how it goes.

Did I read somewhere about the mounting angle on W210 COMANDs being different to that on the W208? Doesn't it affect the built in gyroscope or something?

Correct, they are different by 5 degrees. It makes no difference at all to the use of the COMAND. There are many many A210 units installed into CLK's as they are more readily available.

I have been told that the only reason they were made with different angled gyro's was to comply with some EU standard or other and that in every day use, it doesnt make a jot of difference.
