Selling a cherished reg

I have had 4 plates, actually 5 but I left one on a car it was S8LLO I have no idea what possessed me. I have sold one BDS 9 my initials and a low number I paid £5k for and sold for £4,400. When I needed to sell this I emailed every company I could find with the initials BDS and sold it to a tanker company quite quickly.

I now have 3
D5 TUK (DST UK my company)
BO55 DST
SO10 MON my surname

Its the last one I've decided to pitch and it's half heartedly been with a sales company with no offers over £20k, I think it's worth more, not much more but say £25k so I've stuck it in Autocar and Sunday Times.

I always wondered how you actually sell privately a high value plate so I will sell it like a house by solicitor to solicitor should I be lucky enough to get an offer.


Anyone sold a plate recently? How did it go?

About £7500 ish and it was on my Jag, I've offered it on loan round the family but no one is that bothered. If I can get 25 ish I'll probably sell it but I've turned down £17k last year as I thought it was worth more. Hmm must email Stacey before she gets married
