Selling an AMG

Got over 75 watchers on eBay! Nothing from PH. Nothing from the forum! Other than swap you for a range Rover etc, no real interest

Was it the E60 M5 you had. If so, I have always been interested in its performance to that of the 55K lump.

Just curious to why the m5 isn't as thought after like the 55K. Is the Audi rs4 not so good either. Always fancied both the Audi and m5 but never went for either. Had the e39 m5 that was great car. Should of had it longer but wasn't to be .

Yes e60 M5. Ugly car, but a much better driving experience than the CLS. Much more dynamic

Ok - I haven't read all the thread, but to give you a property analogy, you can sell any house, provided it's priced right.

Typically, no bites would indicate the market perceives it to be too expensive, particularly if no enthusiasts are expressing any interest.

Didn't the E60 M5 have SMG trans issues?

Yes. Mine broke, but was just low hydraulic fluid. Problem is garages tend to replace the entire SMG unit which costs £2500 when it's just a component that needs replacing. Actuator, sensor etc.. Its the clutch that's more of a problem.

I've done my research and it's priced fairly.

Wrong time of year to be selling a V8 barge i'm afraid bud, as mentioned many times...although very good time to be buying one, depends what you want, if need quick cash and rid a search shows WBAC @£7290, you might get a touch more from MB specialist / performance sales garage....

I read also the gearbox was notchy shifting around town. That was one of the biggest reasons I avoided them .

Id rather chew my arm off.

And I really don't believe there is a right and wrong time to sell. If you want a car who cares when it is.

Its not a true auto. In M mode when giving it the beans it makes perfect sense.

I'm not being ungrateful and appreciate what you are saying but I wouldn't be able to live with myself if I sold it that cheap I'd feel financially raped [emoji23]

Unless it's a lottery winner, a selfish middle aged married partner, or someone getting an absolute bargain I can't see a V8 selling between October and Xmas

75 watchers on fleabay = 75 people waiting to see it relisted cheaper or a price drop

Not cars but, I have spent a ridiculous amount on new guitars the past two months. Ideally would like three more and only today backed out of a sale for one I really want, the only one available here too. Just can't justify it now it's taken the seller three weeks to negotiate his asking price, I could buy both kids Xmas pile with the guitar money. So I'm happy to wait now till January/Feb and if he doesn't have it anymore I'll just order it new from overseas

Perhaps re-list it in February once everyone is settled down. I hope it sells for your asking price though

Which one? (I'm using the app, search isn't the best!)

Rich (easy to say) but do not get emotionally attached to anything other than your flesh & blood...If you do you will be well buggered:eek:...I have just lost £27600 gone, dissolved into thin air as my XEL shares have been suspended & are to be liquidated in December...I could have easily sold & took a bath by losing around £10 - £ 12K...but NO i had become involved & could not bring myself to liquidate a loss...now I really am burning...as far as the car, the market says the price or keep it!:dk: Whatever you do at least you know there is someone Stupider(?) than you who has poured his hard earned down the drain...dont follow!

Someone advised or mentioned WBAC for 7200. Its worth a lot more than that, im not surprised he's a bit miffed.

I find Glass do a more realistic basis of estimate to work from, although I think I got an email recently that they were stopping the service or switching it to business use or something :dk:

I have used all major car publications to gauge a price. Glass being £8500 Parkers being £12750 with what car and AT being around £11k. Then I looked at what's being advertised. Then I priced mine based on all this research. Which I think you will find is fair especially given the rarity of the colour combo and spec. £11500ono too expensive!?!?
